First timer .. Was trying to make an order on the phone and was put in hold for 35min. So I hung up and decided to still give it a shot and ate in the restaurant. The food was actually amazing but the service does suck. The salsas were not the best but the food does make up for it all lol. Hate to say it but I'll definitely be back best Mexican food in the IE

The only time I eat menudo is when I go to Guadalajara, Mexico. I always go to Menuderia La Estancia. But I was craving menudo and I wasn't in the mood to fly out. So I stopped at El Rey Tacos y Mariscos and ordered a bowl of there menudo. Dang! It was delicious and flavorful. I enjoyed it so much I have returned four times in total. I always have the menudo with a tall bottle of Coca Cola. Pairing these two makes the experience extra special.

This restaurant is very clean and the dining room is nice. I am writing this review to thank the staff for taking my order at closing time and for making exceptionally delicious ceviche. Highly recommend. Good for taking a family.

My go to spot when I'm craving one of there bomb ass carne asada burrito they never disappoint. Service is always great there super polite always greet everyone like they're family. Love that every single time I've been here place is always full. Great sign that the food is always fresh.

If you are looking for tacos, fries, sopes, quesadillas, agua frescas, anything and everything more... THIS IS THE PLACE TO BE!!! Food is freshly made, atmosphere is clean, and staff is AMAZING! They were so kind, welcoming and recommended us sooo many good dishes. We got all 3 agua frescas, 3 taco combo plate, pastor taco, sopes, shrimp tacos and el rey pastor fries. All were sooo goood. We will definitely be back for the tortas. Hands down the best place in Corona. Thank you El Rey!!!

I have came here easily over a dozen times. I really wish they would pick up their phone more often to order ahead as there is usually a very slow moving line and a wait for the food. It is also very small and hot inside. It can get crowded very easily. The food is delicious. Have tried their Tortas, Tacos, Quesabirrias, Pozole, Menudo, Burritos. It is all very good! Sometimes I won't come here just because of the ordering situation and wait time. They only have one cashier and it can easily be 45 minute just to get your food from the time you arrive.

El Rey is a hole in the wall Mexican food joint on the Sixth street. It's not visible from the street so my friend missed it the first time driving by. But it is well worth the trouble because its food is amazing. I ordered a quesa birria because today is Tuesday and it was served piping hot, fresh off the grill, juicy and tasty. The El Rey burrito was pretty good too. Large portion and very satisfying. El Rey's salsa bar offers a good selection of pickled vegetables, 2 green and 2 red salsas. The hot salsa is packed with some heat, which I liked. El Rey is limited in its seating area and not many parking spots for the whole strip mall. Today it played Mexican songs so loud my friend and I had a hard time hearing each other. So it's really 4.5 Stars to me but I rounded it up for food sake.

Corona has it going on for unique takes on tacos, and El Rey is worth seeking out. In a recessed mini plaza off 6th Street in the old town, my recommendation is to go before the lunch rush. I dined in both times I visited, and the quality of the food and sides is amazing. Grilled cactus and onions, salsa choices ranging from medium to quite hot, and a wide range of side veggies. It's definitely a popular place, and the steady flow of people is testimony to their quality. They were grilling a bunch of chicken the first time, and it got smoky inside until someone opened a door. My house special burrito had both carne asada and al pastor inside, and everything was perfectly cooked and assembled. I blended two salsas and loved it all. My second visit a week later was equally enjoyable and slightly more expansive. I'd like to try something from the mariscos menu in the future. Until then, go here and try a new take on old favorites.
